Advice Team Supervisor/Trainee

  • 1 x full-time, permanent
  • 1 x 21 hours pw, to 31.3.2022

Based within our city centre Advice Hub, you will play a key role in ensuring our advice services are delivered to high quality standards with a strong focus on customer service. You will motivate and support staff and volunteers to deliver quality services, helping the team to achieve agreed targets and objectives.

We’re looking for candidates who can work on their own initiative as well as being team players, and who enjoy being part of a busy, wide-ranging service with a diverse client base.

Outreach Advice Worker/Trainee

  • 1 x full-time, permanent

As an Outreach Advice Worker/Trainee you will join our established team delivering advice sessions at partner venues in Leeds, including GP surgeries, building society offices and other community venues, as well as via telephone and digital channels.
You will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive good quality advice, including carrying out benefits checks, assisting with applications and appeals, and contributing to team rotas and targets.

Strong communication skills and the flexibility to be able to work in a variety of community settings are some of the key attributes needed for this role.

Gateway Services Assessor/Trainee

  • 21 hours pw, to 31.3.2022

As a Gateway Services Assessor/Trainee you will be a first point of contact for our service users, through telephone, online and face-to-face channels. You will identify the key enquiry subject/s and the best source of advice and support available. Where possible you will provide advice and information to help resolve the enquiry at the assessment stage.

Strong communication and IT skills, the ability to quickly navigate information systems and a focus on delivering team targets are some of the key attributes needed for this role.

Help to Claim Welfare Rights Adviser/Trainee

  • Multiple roles are available to 31.3.2022
  • Applications are invited for part-time or full-time positions

As a Welfare Rights Adviser/Trainee you will join our established Help to Claim team helping people to make claims for Universal Credit through to their first payment. You will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive good quality advice via face to face, telephone and digital channels, including carrying out benefits checks, assisting with applications and appeals, and contributing to team rotas and targets.

Good attention to detail, strong IT skills and a focus on good customer service are some of the key attributes needed for this role.

Money Advice Team Debt Adviser/Trainee

  • Multiple roles available, to 31.3.2022
  • Applications are invited for part-time or full-time positions

Based within our Money Advice Team, you will contribute to the delivery of money advice services that meet high quality standards with a strong focus on customer service. You will work to meet individual targets which contribute to the achievement of team targets and objectives.

These roles are open to candidates on a trainee basis, as well as qualified money advisers. However, given the fixed term nature of the roles, some background in money advice is desirable even for trainee applicants.

Trainee opportunities

All the vacancies described above are available on a trainee basis, as well as for qualified advisers. Applications are invited from qualified and experienced advisers and from motivated candidates looking for a career development opportunity in the advice sector.

As a trainee you will develop the skills to deliver advice over the phone, online and face-to-face, covering a range of subjects including welfare rights, employment and housing. If you can offer enthusiasm and a desire to learn, strong IT and communication skills, we’re offering training and support to enable you to achieve full competence in 6-8 months.

Salary scales

Trainee salary – £20,092 – £22,183 p.a. full-time (moving to qualified salary after successful completion of training & probation period)

ATS & Adviser qualified salary – £24,982- £27,041 p.a. full-time
Assessor qualified salary – £22,183 – £27,041 p.a. full-time
